Executive vs Standard Airport Transfer: Is the Upgrade Worth It?

What you actually get for the extra cost of an executive airport transfer versus a standard saloon — and the trips where it is worth it and the ones where it isn't.

Executive vs Standard Airport Transfer: Is the Upgrade Worth It?

An executive transfer costs more than a standard saloon. Whether that is money well spent depends entirely on the trip.

What "executive" actually means

  • A premium saloon or SUV — think a large Mercedes E/S-Class, BMW 5/7 Series, Audi A6/A8 or equivalent.
  • More cabin space and quieter ride, better seats, often rear climate control and USB/USB-C power.
  • Usually a newer vehicle with a lower age limit than the standard fleet.
  • A driver briefed for a professional, low-chat journey — helpful with bags, otherwise leaves you to work or rest.
  • Bottled water and a tidy, presentable car as standard.

It is the same door-to-door service as a standard transfer — fixed price, flight tracking, airport fee included — in a nicer car.

When the upgrade is worth it

  • Client or VIP pickups. The car is part of the first impression.
  • Long transfers. On a 90-minute-plus journey, comfort compounds.
  • You need to work. Space to open a laptop and take a call.
  • Arriving on a red-eye. A quiet, comfortable seat after a long-haul flight is worth a lot.
  • A special occasion — anniversary, milestone birthday, proposal.

When a standard saloon is the smart choice

  • Short hops where you will be in the car 20 minutes.
  • Budget-conscious trips — the standard fleet is comfortable, clean and perfectly presentable.
  • Solo or couple travel with light luggage and no need to impress anyone.

The middle ground

If your reason for wanting "executive" is really space — more passengers, more luggage — you may actually want an MPV, not an executive saloon. It is often better value for the practical benefit. Check the fleet and, if in doubt, ask us which class fits your trip.
